According to UNESCO facts, about 1 million marine animals die every year due to plastic waste (Azolulay, 2022). Currently, there are millions of tons of plastic waste in the oceans. Some waste carries by air flow, some waste enters the seas and oceans through rivers. Plastic waste usually consists of plastic bottles, bags, fishing nets. Some animals mistake plastic bags for food. Plastic bags are not digested in the body of animals, as a result, animals die. For example, sea turtles tangled in fishing nets. This topic is very relevant for the world.  This problem affects everyone. It is important to know that everything in this world is interconnected. The world is one big ecosystem. If one part of an ecosystem fails, the whole world will fall.  However, despite the danger of plastic waste, plastic recycling is an excellent opportunity to preserve the ecosystem. In this essay, I’m going to write the main ways to effectively use recycled plastic.

Waste recycling is a necessary solution to prevent environmental pollution. According to the 4 R’s, it is important and necessary to recycle waste (Peter Taylor, 2022). These 4Rs are about reduce, reuse, recycle and recover. Let’s consider all of them. Reduce is about reducing our consumption.  Every year we use a large amount of resources, tons of waste are generated during the use. For example, most people don’t even think about the damage to the environment when they buy new jeans. Although, the fashion industry is the second biggest polluter after the oil industry (Valentina Jacometti, 2017). Reuse is about using a thing again. For example, we can use a bottle twice, instead of buying another one.  So, conforming to these 4Rs, it is important to recycle as much waste as possible. It is possible to make the necessary things from recycled plastic for further use. Recycling plastic gives new life to old things. 

Firstly, it is possible to make clothes from recycled plastic. The most popular type of waste is PET. You see this type of plastic every day. These are ordinary plastic bottles of Coca Cola or Pepsi. Factories produce fiber for the textile industry from the waste of PET bottles.Fiber is used as a material for specialized clothing. These clothes are mainly sports and industrial clothing. This process consists of plastic waste crushing to a dust fraction, which then goes through the stages of the press.( Anand Daftardar, Rashmi patel, Ronak Shah, Parth Gandhi, Himanshu Garg, 2017). As an example, I would like to write about  the factory  “Green Technology Industries ” in Shymkent. This factory produces both clothing and construction materials from recycled materials.

Secondly, it is possible to produce building materials from recycled plastic. For example, it is possible to manufacture water and sewer pipes, secondary polypropylene is used as a material. Due to its properties, this type of plastic is easily recyclable.

Thirdly, it is possible to make things for household needs from recycled plastic. These include garbage bags, flower pots or basins. Secondary polyethylene is used as the material. One of the features of polyethylene is the possibility of its efficient processing. Secondary raw materials have the same properties and characteristics as primary raw materials. 

In conclusion, I would like to say that humanity has the opportunity to recycle plastic and use it as a secondary raw material. It is possible to make clothes, building materials and even household items from recycled materials. Recycling of plastic waste is extremely important. It is important, not only for the preservation of the planet’s biodiversity, but it is also important for us people. First of all, you need to start with yourself and ask: “What can I do for the environment? How can I save flora and fauna?”. And the most important question is: “Why am I doing this?”. Humanity has already  realized what damage it causes to nature. Before it’s too late, it’s important  to start handing over and recycling plastic bottles  now.
